Conventional Cooling system

The conventional HVAC system has a chiller and its purpose is to chill water. This water is then circulated to every floor of the building through heavy duty pumps. Every floor has a tapping wherein water is taken inside AHU. AHU has a motor and a blower, which enables air flow. As a result, there is heat exchange between air and water inside AHU and air becomes cold. This cold air is then pushed to the respective offices that provides cooling.
In large offices, it is very difficult to have air balancing. This means comparatively hot places having lesser supply of cold air and cold at places receiving more air supply.
Also, if no human occupancy is there and hence doesn’t require cooling, but AC being centralized, it cannot be turned off, which is a sheer waste of energy. Our efficient and smart HVAC condemns these major problems, hereby making it really SMART.

Our innovation has been done at the low side of HVAC systems, which consist of air distribution. With the advent of power electronics, Integrated circuits etc., controlling systems has become very easy. Changing motor speed to regulate fan speed and thus the amount of air pumped in is done by VFD. There are VAVs installed at each zone to control the amount of air required at each zone. It can also put off the air supply, in case the zone is unoccupied. All VAVs are connected to VFD via RS 485 medium. It sends live information to VFD which controls the fan speed as per the cooling requirements. This helps in saving energy in air distribution, hereby balancing the air flow by setting the desired temperature. VFD has internal chill water flow control option. As the VFD speed lowers, the chill water supply is also throttled and thus the water flow is optimize. The pump then further reduces its speed to optimize its power consumption. As the overall heat load of the building becomes optimized, the impact is reflected on chiller which now also runs at a lower capacity and reduces power consumption.

Our innovation in green building cooling system has greatly solved two major problems. First, the issue of unbalanced air distribution is solved by making every portion of room get equal amount of cooling. This avoids problem of extremities of temperature. The other problem that energy wastage in an unoccupied zone is also avoided by putting off the VAV. Our innovation gives Decentralized Air Con in Centralized Air Con system.

Variable Air Volume Box

The Variable Air Valve (VAV) box monitors the surroundings and maintains AC level as desired by every occupant. It gives decentralized air conditioning in centralized system. Depending on the occupancy sensor it alters the supply of air. For no occupancy in a particular zone, he AC gets off by itself. Smart work, smart savings! All of it can be monitored remotely over RS485.


Variable Frequency Drive

Our Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is the key component to control the speed of a motor. It works in tandem with our VAV box and integrated sensor network to act as smart ACs cooling based on the number of people present in the zone. It has an in-built BTU meter and chill water flow control facility to optimize heat load. VFD can be managed remotely using a building management system over Ethernet.

BTU Meter & flow Controller

Our BTU meter is one of its kinds, being designed after intensive research. This BTU meter measures the heat consumed by the AHU and generates correct bill for the clients. When integrated within an AHU along with an effective combination with the VFD and VAV, the BTU meter helps in overall cost reductions.


Sensor and Network

To make the system more responsive, to increase its efficiency and to make it economical, we have integrated various sensors in the VFD boards. These sensors monitor air temperature, pressure, CO2, humidity and electrical load. The sensor network efficiently enables the control of cold water supply, thus reducing the load on the main chiller. All the information is further communicated via Ethernet on Modbus protocol to the Building Management System.
